Transcribing local files during playback┃Chrome extension

For local files, of course, you can directly upload them to Notta for transcription, and file transcription generally provides more accurate results.

However, if for some reason you wish to transcribe local audio in real-time while listening to it, or if you only want to transcribe specific segments of the audio, the Notta Chrome extension might also be able to assist you.

Prerequisites for using this feature
Plan: Available on all plans
Role: Available to all roles
Platform: Notta Web

1. Install the Notta Chrome Extension.
2. Launch the Notta Chrome Extension by clicking the extension icon in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser and selecting Notta Chrome Extension.
   
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in to the Notta Web version. If you don't have an account, you can create one for free.
4. Drag and drop the audio or video file saved on your computer into the Chrome browser window to open it.

   Note: Certain file formats may not be supported by Chrome.

5. Click the extension icon in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser, and select Notta Chrome Extension.
6. Specify the storage location in the Save to Workspace field, set the Transcription language to match the language actually used in the web content, and set the audio source to Current tab sound.
7. Click Start Recording to begin recording the audio coming from the Chrome tab.
   
   
   

   Tip: You can record up to 5 pages simultaneously.

8. The transcription results will be displayed in Notta in real-time as you record.
   

   1. The following operations are possible on the tab being recorded:

      1. Pause / Resume: Click the "Pause / Resume" button to pause or resume recording.
      2. Stop Recording: Click the "Stop Recording" button to end recording.
         

   2. When checking the transcribed content on the Notta page, the following operations are possible:

      1. Pause / Resume: Click the "Pause / Resume" button to pause or resume recording.

      2. Stop Recording: Click the "Stop Recording" button to end recording.
      3. Add Bookmark: After the content of a text block is finalized, you can add a bookmark by hovering your cursor over that block.
