Max Continuous Recording 30 min (*) 2 hours 2 hours 2 hours

*Free plan users can only view the first 3 minutes of the transcribed recording.

For paid plans, each recording session can technically last up to 5 hours. However, to ensure stability, the screen recording feature itself is limited to a maximum of 2 hours per session—even for paid users.

⛳️ Environment & device setup

To fully use screen recording, you'll need to allow access to certain features in both your browser and computer system settings.

1. Recommended environment

  • We recommend using Google Chrome for the best performance.
  • Low IndexedDB storage may prevent your recording files from being saved. To avoid this, free up some space in your browser before recording.

2. Microphone & camera setup

To record audio or video, you need to enable permissions in both your PC system settings and Chrome browser.

  • Record external audio: Allow access to your microphone in both system and Chrome settings.
  • Film yourself and your surroundings: Allow access to your camera in both system and Chrome settings.

Follow these steps to set up permissions:

  1. In your system settings, grant Chrome access to your microphone and camera:
  2. In Chrome settings, allow Notta to access your microphone and camera:

3. Screen & system audio setup on macOS

On macOS, in addition to granting access to the microphone and camera, you also need to allow access for screen and system audio recording.

For details, see Apple's official guide: Control access to screen and system audio recording on Mac.

Note: Recording system audio is only supported on macOS Sonoma 14 and later. On older versions, you can record audio from browser tabs, but not from other windows or apps.
