This guide explains how recordings are handled and synced depending on whether a Notta AI voice recorder, such as Notta Memo or Notta Memo Pro, is connected to the Notta App via Bluetooth. It also explains how to sync recordings and manage files.
🔄 What Happens When You Record with an AI Voice Recorder?
Recording behavior depends on whether Notta Memo / Notta Memo Pro is connected to the Notta App via Bluetooth.
When connected to the Notta App (Bluetooth on)
- Audio is transferred to the Notta App in real time.
- You can use real-time transcription and real-time translation.
- This is useful for live events, lectures, interviews, and similar scenarios.
Note: If Bluetooth disconnects during real-time recording, the current recording stops automatically. After about 3 seconds, the device switches to offline local recording mode to help prevent content loss.
When not connected to the Notta App (Bluetooth off)
- Audio is saved locally on the device.
- The AI voice recorder has built-in 32 GB / 64 GB storage, so you can record even when it is not connected to the app.
- When you reconnect the device to the app, recording files can be synced to the Notta App.
📱 How to Sync Recording Files to the App
Warning: If you unbind the AI voice recorder from your Notta account during syncing, all data on the device will be erased and the device will be reset to factory settings.
Automatic sync over Bluetooth
- When the AI voice recorder reconnects to the app, the list of unsynced recording files is sent to the app automatically.
- You can select the files you want to sync and transfer them over Bluetooth.
- Keep the device near your phone while syncing.
File management
- After a file is synced to the Notta App, you can transcribe, translate, summarize, and manage it in Notta.
- If syncing does not start, check the Bluetooth connection and make sure the device is connected to the same Notta account.
