Organize your data using folders

In Notta, you can organize and efficiently manage your created transcription data and recordings using folders. By utilizing the folder feature, you can easily find your files and keep your workspace organized. 
This guide explains the basic management methods, including how to create folders, edit folder names, delete folders, and move files and folders.

Prerequisites for using this feature
Plan: Available on all plans
Role: Any role with Can edit or higher permissions
Platform: Notta Web, Notta Mobile App*
* Some features are unavailable or limited in the Notta mobile app.

Create a folder

  1. Click All Records in the sidebar.
  2. When you are on the All Records page, you can create a top-level folder by clicking on the  + Create New Folder option on the right side. Enter the desired folder name (required) and the members to collaborate (optional) and click Create.
    To create a subfolder within a specific folder, navigate to the desired folder and click on + Create new folder . Enter the desired name for the subfolder and click Create to create the subfolder within the current folder.
  3. If you are a Business or Enterprise user, you can also set folder permissions before creating the folder. By default, the permissions are set to allow only the creator to access the folder.

Hover over the folder, click the Rename icon, enter the new folder name, and click Save to save the changes.

Delete a folder

  1. Select the folder(s) you want to delete.
    ■ For single folder, click on the More icon→Move to Trash.

    ■ For multiple folders, either check the checkboxes next to each folder or use the "Select All" option. Then click on the Move to Trash.
  2. Click Move to Trash to confirm the deletion. Recordings that stored in the deleted folder will be moved to the Trash.
  3. To permanently delete folders or records, go to the Trash section, click the All types option to select all the folders, and confirm the deletion by clicking Delete Permanently in the pop-up message.

Organize recordings in folders

Note: After the move, the permissions of the files will inherit the permission settings of the moved folder.

  1. Go to the detail page of your recording and click Move to > Move to folder.
  2. Choose your target folder or create a new one, then click Move.
  3. You can also move multiple recordings to another folder at once by selecting them individually from the homepage.
If the destination folder is a subfolder within another folder, click the arrow (▶︎) icon to the left of the parent folder. This will expand the folder and display its subfolders.
