Verify your domain for organization-wide workspace management

Domain verification establishes ownership of your organization's domain and enables secure, centralized workspace management in Notta.

Prerequisites for using this feature
Plan: Available only on Enterprise Plan
Role: Only the Owner can configure
Platform: Notta Web

Follow these six easy steps to complete any domain verification that requires a TXT record.

Step 1: Copy the TXT verification code

First, go to the service where you need to verify your domain (like Google Workspace, Shopify, Microsoft 365, etc.). Find the domain verification section, where the platform will automatically generate a unique text string for you.

Step 2: Log in to your domain host

Open the website where you purchased your domain (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains) and log in to your account.

Step 3: Find your DNS settings

After logging in, navigate to your list of domains and click on the one you want to verify. Look for a section called DNS Management, Manage DNS, or Zone Editor.

Step 4: Add a new TXT record

On the DNS management page, you will see a button to add a new record, usually labeled Add Record or Create Record. Click it and fill in the fields as follows:

  1. Host / Name / Alias:
    • If you are verifying your main domain (e.g., yourdomain.com), enter "@".
    • If the service provider gives a specific host name (e.g., _acme-challenge), enter that instead.
    • In 99% of cases, you just need to enter @.
  2. Type:
    • From the dropdown menu, select TXT.
  3. Value / Content / Text:
    • Paste the complete verification code you copied in Step 1 here. Make sure there are no extra spaces or characters.
  4. TTL (Time-To-Live):
    • You can leave this at the default setting (e.g., 600 or 3600). No changes are needed.

Step 5: Save the record and wait

Once you've filled in the details correctly, click the Save or Confirm button.

  • Important: It takes some time for DNS changes to become active across the internet. This process is called "DNS propagation." It usually takes about 10-30 minutes, but can sometimes take longer. Please be patient.

Step 6: Return to the service and verify

After waiting about 10-30 minutes, go back to the service where you got the verification code in Step 1. Find and click the Verify, Confirm, or Done button.

The system will automatically check for the TXT record on your domain. If it finds the record, you will see a success message like "Verification Complete" or "Domain ownership confirmed!"

What if verification fails?

  • Don't worry. Wait a few more minutes and try clicking the verify button again.
  • Double-check the details you entered in Step 4, especially the "Value" field. Make sure it was copied and pasted exactly.
  • Confirm that the "Host" field is set to @.
