When to use which

Use Notta Bot when:

  • You're on macOS 11 or 12 (system audio not supported on Desktop)
  • You want to record without the desktop app running
  • You're joining from a device where Notta Desktop isn't installed
  • Video recording is required
  • You want speakers to be automatically labeled using their names from the online meeting

Use Notta Desktop (Bot-Free) when:

  • You want no bot visible in the meeting
  • You need to record on any platform, including unsupported conferencing tools
  • You want meeting detection to auto-prompt recording
  • You want higher audio quality and better speaker separation for 1-on-1 remote calls
