How bot-free works in Zoom

The Notta Desktop App captures microphone audio (your voice) and system audio (other participants' voices) directly on your PC, eliminating the need to configure Zoom recording permissions or admit a Notta Bot to the meeting. It also records exactly what is displayed in your Zoom window, allowing you to capture presentation slides, shared content, and the meeting view in a single recording.

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Start recording from Notta Desktop

  1. Launch the Notta Desktop app and select Record a meeting > Bot-free.
  2. Configure your recording and transcription settings:
    • Screen recording: Select Record screen if you want to capture the Zoom meeting screen. Select Don't record screen if you only need audio.
    • Transcription language: Select the language spoken in your meeting.
  3. Confirm your settings and click Record and transcribe.

Step 2: Zoom display settings (Optional)

If you only want to record and transcribe meeting audio, no setup is required in Zoom. To also capture the meeting view or shared content, follow the steps below.

  1. In the pop-up window "Choose what to share", choose the target Zoom meeting window you want to record.

— IMPORTANT
Recording laws vary by country, state, and context. In some jurisdictions, all parties in a conversation must consent to being recorded. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary consent before recording any meeting or conversation. Notta does not verify consent on your behalf.
