If you're having trouble connecting your Notta Memo device to the Notta App on your phone, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
π First-time setup
1. Check the battery level of the Notta Memo
To power on your Notta Memo, short-press the round button. The screen will display the "Notta" logo, followed by a status screen showing the battery level.
If the screen doesn't turn on, your device may be out of battery. Charge it using the original charging cable for at least 10 minutes.
- The screen will flash when the device powers on.

2. Turn on Notta Memo and enable Bluetooth permissions
Short-press the round button again to turn on Notta Memo. A Bluetooth icon should appear, indicating that the device is in pairing mode. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
iOS devices:

- Open your iPhone's Settings.
- Scroll down to find the Notta app and make sure Bluetooth permissions are enabled.
- Also ensure Bluetooth is enabled in Control Center.
Android devices:

- Open Settings > Apps > Notta.
- Enable both Bluetooth and Location permissions.
- For Android 12 and earlier, the Location Service must be enabled for Bluetooth scanning to work.
3. Keep Notta Memo close to your phone
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, and keep the Notta Memo close. Press the record button and verify that the screen lights up, indicating the device is on and ready to pair.
4. Check if Notta Memo is connected to another user
If the Notta Memo screen is on and Bluetooth is enabled but the Notta App still doesn't detect the device, the Notta Memo might be connected to another phone. Ask the other user to disconnect and unbind the device from their Notta App, then try connecting it again.
- Once detected, the Notta Memo will appear in your Notta Appβs list of search results.
5. Restart the Bluetooth connection
- Disable Bluetooth on your phone temporarily.
- Turn on Notta Memo and wait for the Bluetooth icon to appear.
- Re-enable Bluetooth on your phone and retry the connection in the Notta App.
π Reconnecting to the Notta App
If your Notta Memo was previously connected but now cannot be detected, follow these steps:
- Ensure the device has enough battery (fully charging is recommended).
- Confirm that your phone's Bluetooth is turned on.
- Update the Notta App to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Restart your phone.
- Reset the Notta Memo: Short-press for 5 times to initate a reset.
β οΈ Notes on Bluetooth behavior
- The Notta Memo can only be connected via the Notta App β not through your phone's system Bluetooth settings alone.
- On iOS: After connecting through the Notta App, you may still see "Notta Memo" in the system Bluetooth list. This is expected and does not reflect actual connection status.
- On Android: The Notta Memo may not appear in the Bluetooth devices list even when it is successfully connected to the Notta App.
