Why won't my Notta Memo turn on even when I press the button?

πŸš€ Power-On Procedure

Unlike a typical smartphone, you do not need to press and hold the button until the screen lights up.

To turn on your Notta Memo, simply press the button once (a short press) and release it immediately. After a moment, the device will vibrate and a "Notta" logo will appear on the display, signaling that it is starting up.

πŸŽ™οΈ Recording from Power-Off State

Please note that you cannot complete the entire sequence from "Powering On" to "Starting Recording" with a single long press while the device is off.

If the device is powered off and you want to start recording, you must first short-press to turn the device on. After it has finished booting, you can then long-press to start recording.

πŸ” Device Status Verification

If you're unsure whether the device is already on, press the button once (short press) and check the display:

  • Battery icon is displayed: The device is already ON. You can start recording by long-pressing the button.
  • "Notta" logo is displayed: The device was powered off before your short press and is now in the process of starting up. Please wait for the logo to disappear before proceeding with your next operation.
Is there a setting to prevent Notta Memo recordings from automatically transcribing?

When your Notta Memo connects to the Notta app, all offline recording data is automatically synced. By default, an automatic transcription will begin once the upload is complete.

If you don't want automatic transcription, you can disable this feature. To use this function, your app must be the following version or later:

  • iOS app: V6.46.11
  • Android app: V6.46.12.0

Setup Method

  1. Open the Notta app and tap the Mine tab.
  2. Tap Advanced.
  3. Turn off Auto-transcribe device recordings.

When automatic transcription is disabled, synced data will appear as a record in the app with the status "Not transcribed yet".

If you need a transcription, simply tap Get My Transcript on the record's detail screen. Once transcription begins, the corresponding minutes will be deducted from your quota based on the recording length.

If I have a lot of offline recording data on my Notta Memo, can I choose which specific data to import into the Notta app?

When importing offline recording data from Notta Memo to the app, you can't select individual files. All data is imported in bulk. If you have unnecessary data, you'll need to manually delete those recordings from the Notta app after they've been uploaded.

To avoid consuming transcription quota on unnecessary data, we recommend turning off auto-transcription in the settings beforehand. To use this feature, your app must be the following version or later:

  • iOS app: V6.46.11
  • Android app: V6.46.12.0

Setup Method

  1. Open the Notta app and tap the Mine tab.
  2. Tap Advanced.
  3. Turn off Auto-transcribe device recordings.
How can I improve the quality of audio data recorded with Notta Memo?

To enhance the quality of your audio data, please keep the following points in mind:

πŸ”΅ Use the correct recording mode for the appropriate situation: "Call Recording Mode" and "Meeting Recording Mode" work differently to capture audio. Selecting a mode that doesn't match your usage scenario can result in lower audio quality.

  • When using Call Recording Mode, ensure your Notta Memo is affixed to the back of your smartphone, minimizing any device movement.
  • When using Meeting Recording Mode, place your Notta Memo device stably on a meeting table or similar surface, and avoid keeping it in your pocket or bag.

πŸ”΅ Adjust microphone sensitivity: The Notta app also allows you to adjust the microphone sensitivity based on your recording environment. To use this feature, your app must be the following version or later:

  • iOS app: V6.46.11
  • Android app: V6.46.12.0

Setup Method

  1. Connect Notta Memo to the Notta app.
  2. Open the Notta app and tap the Mine tab.
  3. Tap Smart devices and select Settings.
  4. Tap Microphone Sensitivity and adjust the sensitivity using the slider.
My Wi-Fi transfer frequently disconnects when transferring offline recordings from Notta Memo to the app. What should I do?

Here are some best practices for stable Wi-Fi transfer:

  • Ensure the Notta app is running in the foreground.
  • Do not turn off your phone's screen. We recommend disabling the screen lock function or setting your phone's sleep mode to "Never".

However, we've observed situations where, even after trying these best practices, the Wi-Fi transfer function can still be unstable or disconnect in some environments. Our team is currently exploring more stable solutions and is committed to improving this feature.

If you're not in a hurry, you might consider using the more stable Bluetooth transfer feature.

Can I keep the Notta Memo in its leather case at all times? Do I need to take it out for on-site recording?

As long as the Notta Memo is placed in the leather case in the correct orientation, the built-in four MEMS microphones face the side that is not covered by the case, so you can record and use it normally without removing it from the case.
