Connect Notta with Slack to ask questions about your meeting content, share AI Notes with your team, and receive comment and mention notifications. This guide explains how to set up each workflow.
Before you start
- Sign in to Notta Web or Notta Brain and have access to the Slack workspace you want to connect.
- For Brain questions, your Slack workspace administrator must approve the Notta Slack Bot installation. Each user completes their own authorization.
- To share AI Notes through an integration, you need Can edit and download permission or higher for the record.
- Automatic summary delivery requires a Business or Enterprise workspace. Personal rules require access to the relevant records or folders. Only Enterprise Owners can manage workspace rules.
Choose the right connection: Connect Slack in Notta Brain to ask the bot questions. Connect Slack in Notta Web to share meeting summaries and receive notifications. Follow both setup paths if you want to use both experiences.

Ask Notta Brain questions in Slack
- In a Slack channel or direct message, mention @Notta Bot and enter your question.
- Wait for the bot's answer, then review it against the original meeting or source before sharing or acting on it.
@Notta Bot List the decisions and next steps from my latest project meeting.
- The bot answers questions about your own Notta Brain content, such as meeting transcripts and uploaded files. It cannot access other users' content.
- Each question is handled independently. Include the context needed for each request.
- Answers are text only. To generate documents, slides, or images, use Notta Brain on the web.
- A successful Slack Bot response uses 100 AI Credits.
AI accuracy: AI-generated answers and summaries may contain inaccurate or incomplete information. Check important details against the original source.
Share a meeting summary with Slack
- In Notta Web, open the record containing the AI Notes you want to share.
- Select Send to and choose Slack from the available services.
- Select the destination channel and review the content options. Include AI Notes where the option is shown.
- Confirm the destination and select Send.
Before sending, check that the selected channel is appropriate for the meeting content. See Export AI Notes for the general sharing flow and permission requirements.
Send meeting summaries automatically
Use a Notta automation to generate an AI summary and send it to Slack when the configured conditions are met.
- In Notta Web, open Automations and select Create automations.
- Name the rule. If you are an Enterprise Owner, choose whether to create a Personal or Workspace rule.
- Choose a trigger, such as Transcription completed or New transcript in folder, and set the available filters.
- Configure the initial action to generate an AI summary and choose a template.
- Select Add subsequent action, choose the Slack delivery action, and set the destination channel.
- Review the rule, then select Create automations > Save and Activate. Choose Save Only if you want to activate it later.
To stop automatic delivery, turn off the rule in Automations. Check for overlapping personal and workspace rules if you receive duplicate summaries. Summary generation through automation uses your AI Notes allowance.
For detailed trigger settings, permissions, and rule management, see Automate your workflow in Notta.
Receive comment and mention notifications
- With the Slack integration connected in Notta Web, open your profile menu and select Settings.
- Select Notification.
- Under Comment and mention, select the Slack checkbox.
Clear the Slack checkbox to stop this notification method. See Notifications for comments and mentions for web and mobile instructions.
Plans and AI Credits
Requirements vary by workflow: automatic summary delivery requires Business or Enterprise, while Brain questions use AI Credits. A paid Notta transcription subscription does not automatically increase your Notta Brain credit allowance.
