When inviting Notta Bot to a Zoom meeting, recording permission from the host is required. If the recording request from Notta does not appear, please try the following solutions.
Preliminary Settings
- Open the Zoom settings page and log in with the account that will be the meeting host.
- Click Settings in the sidebar, and then click the Recording tab.
- Turn on Record to computer files.
- Notta Bot joins as an external participant, so under the Who can request host permission to record? setting, make sure to check the box for External meeting participants.

Invite Notta Bot to a Zoom meeting
- Invite Notta Bot to a Zoom meeting by manually pasting the meeting invitation link or via calendar integration.
- If you have enabled the Zoom waiting room, a request from Notta Bot to enter the meeting will appear. Click Admit to allow Notta Bot to enter from the waiting room.
- When the dialog box "Notta is requesting to record this meeting" appears, click Approve.
- Notta Bot can now join the Zoom meeting and begin recording and transcribing.
Confirm if external participants can request recording
If the host does not see the recording request, please simulate Notta Bot (an external participant) using the following steps to check if recording can be requested. In the screenshots below, the host's screen is on the left, and the external participant's screen is on the right.
- The host (using a work email address) starts the meeting from a browser or the Zoom desktop app.
- The external participant joins the meeting using an email address with a domain different from the host's email domain.
* We recommend joining from the Zoom desktop app, as the recording button may not be displayed in a browser. - The external participant clicks More > Record in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- The external participant clicks Request to record to this computer to send a request to the host.
- When the host receives the recording request from the external participant, it means that external participants are allowed to request recording. The host can grant permission to record to that participant by clicking Allow recording.
- When the external participant clicks Record in the bottom right corner of the screen, recording starts. At the same time, the message "This meeting is being recorded" is displayed on the host's screen.
If the recording request pop-up does not appear on the host's side when simulating the operation of requesting recording as an external participant, please double-check the setup procedure above.
If the recording request pop-up appears on the host's side when simulating the operation of requesting recording as an external participant, but the recording request pop-up does not appear when Notta Bot joins the meeting, please contact support.
